The curriculum for grades
nine through twelve is college preparatory; 100% of
Clarksville Academy graduates received college acceptance.
Enrollment is limited to students of average or above
average academic ability who are seeking a college
preparatory curriculum. In this environment, teachers can
accomplish quality instruction and encouragement of special
interests of students. The guidance counselor is in
frequent contact with students concerning colleges,
scholarships, and career planning.
The quality of education offered to
Clarksville Academy students has been evidenced by the fact
the graduates have been able, in many instances, to attend
the college of their choice. Graduates of Clarksville
Academy have been accepted to such colleges and universities
as Vanderbilt, Johns Hopkins, Rhodes, Virginia Tech, Notre
Dame, U.S. Military Academy, and many other challenging
institutions. Several National Merit Scholarships have been
awarded to Clarksville Academy students.
Clarksville Academy students participate in
the Educational Planning and Assessment System (EPAS) which
is a testing program designed to improve teaching and
learning so that students are better prepared for success.
All students in grade nine take the EXPLORE, students in
grade ten taken the PLAN, and students in grade eleven take
the ACT. These assessments are designed to improve
instruction, raise student achievement and prepare students
for success.
Students in grades ten and eleven also take
the Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test (PSAT). This test
is the basis for selection National Merit Scholars.
